State fit in one line
One concrete win mapped to their world. Skip the résumé dump and the mission statement.
Ask for a small yes
Referral, intro, or 15 minutes. Never "please hire me." Copy from Puvio if you used it, then send it yourself.

"Hi [Name]. We overlapped at [school or company], and I saw you on [team]. At [prior co] I [specific win], which maps to [line from the posting]. If you are open to a referral, I can send a two-liner you can paste. If now is a bad time, no worries."

Alumni and people at the company. That is the path that usually moves. If you later message someone on the hiring team, arrive with the same homework, not a paste template.
