How should you track job applications?

Track each role as one record with: posting link, fit assessment, company research, contacts, outreach status, and application date — not just URL and "applied." Spreadsheets store status; they do not run fit analysis or draft outreach. Puvio Hunter uses one card per role with Kanban stages from research through reply.

What spreadsheets miss

A column for "status" does not tell you who to message or what to say.

Separate tabs for research, contacts, and drafts fragment the workflow.

Related questions

Is a spreadsheet enough for a small search?
If you track a handful of URLs and dates, yes. Once you need fit scores, contacts, and drafts per role, a spreadsheet becomes a pile of tabs.
What should each role record include?
Posting link, fit, company research, who to message, outreach draft, and status — on one card, not split across sheets.
