Sofia Alvarez had been a product designer at HubSpot in Cambridge for three years. Onboarding flows. A design-system contribution people reused. The data platform team still saw her as “the onboarding person” if they saw her at all.
The internal posting went up in March. The default move was a Workday click and a prayer that the hiring manager searched her name. She had watched that fail twice for other people.
The record
She used Puvio as a win log, not as a job board. The onboarding redesign and the system work were already in the record from last review cycle.
She saved the internal posting anyway. Fit against her own company. Ranked contacts on the destination team. Two names. Not a blast to the Slack channel.
The notes
Quick Message used a system contribution they could verify internally. She copied it into LinkedIn, not Slack. Slack is where novels go to die.
Two coffees. She applied in the portal after they expected her name. Transfer in May. The record did the translation. She still sent the notes herself.

Sofia’s badge did not move the team. A short note built from work she had already written down did. Then the portal, not instead of it.
